Morrison Readies for Delivery of Vertical Tower Stands for U.S. First Commercial-Scale Offshore Wind Project

GE Renewables US, LLC and GE Renewable Energy have selected Chet Morrison Contractors, LLC (Morrison) to provide wind turbine components for the Vineyard Wind Offshore Wind Project. This large-scale wind farm will be located 15 miles off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Vineyard Wind is an 800-megawatt wind farm that will generate electricity for more than 400,000 homes and businesses in the area by reducing carbon emissions by more than 1.6 million metric tons per year.

Morrison is proud to be a provider of these vertical tower stands for the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in the US. Morrison will utilize a number of its facilities to meet project demands. The scope of work includes the supply, fabrication, testing and delivery to New Bedford, Massachusetts, of multiple vertical tower stands designed to transport and store the Haliade-X tower sections.
