MORRISON was contracted to perform soil sampling in order to supplement an investigation in which there was concern a drill had caused water contamination.
The soil would need to be sampled in a closed lake system which was inaccessible to conventional barges. A modular barge was constructed utilizing a system that was trucked in to location. A 3-point anchor system was engineered and built on the modular barge in order to allow for divers to perform the deep air dive in the lake, which was 140-feet deep in areas. Recreational boat traffic was monitored and accounted for using no wake zone buoys.
Approximately 750 samples were taken.
The project was completed successful with zero incidents.
