Morrison Presents the 4th Annual Roux for a Reason Gumbo Cookoff
Morrison was proud to support the 4th annual Roux for a Reason event as the key sponsor for the 2nd year in a row. The gumbo cookoff event was held on March 7th at Southdown Plantation in Houma and benefitted Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center, with 100% of the funds raised not only going directly to the organization but also staying within Terrebonne Parish. The organization aims to make cancer screening and care more accessible to people right here in our community through programs like the mobile cancer screening unit, transportation for screenings and treatments and a comprehensive nutrition program for cancer patients.
At this year’s event, attendees enjoyed a family-friendly atmosphere with activities for kids, live music by Parish County Line and of course, some of the best gumbo around Houma.
