Shipping and receiving clerk
Primary function:
The basic function of the position is responsible for performing clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping and receiving of goods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Unpacks, examines, counts, verifies, stores/stages, communicates with the Inventory Control Clerk and Rig Coordinator a list of items received on a daily basis.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoice, orders, or other records in accordance with QA/QC policies.
- Communicates with CMC Buyers weekly for back-order item updates, on order received.
- Coordinate load outs as directed with proper approved load out documents.
- Generate Shipping List & Bill of Lading for load outs coordinated by someone with approval authority.
- Maintains records of all shipping and receiving activities.
- Organize areas for incoming and outgoing material, and keep clean and orderly.
- Maintain a daily traffic log of all activities (comings and goings).
- Must fully understand and enforce company policies and procedures under his/her control.
- Maintains and provides an inventory list of all items received and shipped for vessel, department, Project Manager, Material Coordinator, etc.
- Send time cards and DFR’s to time keeper on a daily basis.
- Complete requisitions in USC for supplies needed for daily activities.
- Call for scrap and waste bins to be exchanged when needed.
- Responsible to train both new and existing employees to ensure future growth of the
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain Forklift Certification and Hazardous Waste Certification
- Experience – 6+ month of shipping/receiving in oil & gas industry.
