Morrison community March 30, 2017

Our Community. Our Commitment.

This year, Chet Morrison Contractors had the honor of being the title sponsors of the Ronald McDonald House cup of Houston, a golf tournament benefiting the Houston chapter of the Ronald McDonald House. This year’s Chairman Emeritus of the event was former President George H.W. Bush, and the golf tournament took place on Monday, March 27 at the River Ridge Golf Club in Sealy, TX.

“We’re honored to be the primary sponsor of this year’s tournament,” says Kelly Reeves, vice president of marketing at Chet Morrison Contractors. “It’s a privilege to be able to support such an important community organization that helps so many children in need.”

The Ronald McDonald House is an organization that was started in Philadelphia in 1974 that provides safe havens for critically ill children and their families. Through community donations and fundraising events like the Ronald McDonald House Cup, houses have been built across the nation that temporarily house families with children being treated at local hospitals. Today, there are more than 300 Ronald McDonald Houses around the world, all of which are operated solely by donations.

The Houston chapter, founded in 1978, has designed and developed multiple houses in the area, and works alongside local hospitals to provide terminally ill children a comfortable, safe and reliable home away from home. The Ronald McDonald House Cup serves as one of the major fundraising events for the organization, and all proceeds go to maintaining the currently operating homes – as well as providing additional fundraising for potential new spaces as needed.
