Fleet Manager

The Fleet Manager’s primary function is to manage MORRISON’s fleet of vehicles, trailers and other miscellaneous moving equipment and ensure compliance with all Federal and State motor vehicle regulations.  This position is also responsible for the procurement of vehicles, registering and licensing, vehicles, vehicle maintenance program and driver management inclusive of GPS tracking software and driver surveillance.



  • Manage the relationships between the support and operations functions regarding vehicle utilization;
  • Contribute to the interpretation and clarification of the DOT Federal and state motor vehicle regulations;
  • Develop and execute the strategy for vehicle management program inclusive of vehicle maintenance, fuel management, driver surveillance, regulatory compliance, vehicle assignment process and driver qualifications;
  • Identify risk areas and recommend mitigation plans for MORRISON’s vehicle management program;
  • Develop cost tracker and/or reporting on MORRISON vehicle operations and maintenance cost;
  • Review and provide best options for vehicle replacement whether new purchase, rental or lease;
  • Monitor, manage fuel cost and develop strategies in an effort to reduce fuel consumption
  • Manage GPS software;
  • Insure compliance with Department of Transportation and state regulations regarding vehicle inspections, certifications, driver qualification files, driver logs, etc.;
  • Maintain and schedule vehicle maintenance and repair as necessary;
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection;
  • Monitor driver behavior and report driver infractions to appropriate manager to ensure immediate remedial action is taken to address.



  • Minimum High School education or equivalent. College degree in management curriculum preferred.


  • A minimum of five (5) years of Fleet Management/Logistical experience.


  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Leadership, analytical, and organizational skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with GPS vehicle tracking programs.


  • Self -motivated, possess interpersonal skills to maintain a good working and ethical relationships with vendors, customers, strategic industry partners, and the Company’s Business Unit Managers.
  • Ability to operate under pressure, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and meet deadlines independently.
  • Ability to effectively work within Microsoft Office applications and learn company specific applications.
