Training Manager
1. BASIC FUNCTION
The basic function of the position is to mentor, coach and train Morrison employees including new hires in accordance with Company, client and regulatory requirements. The Training Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the department in terms of budgeting, cost controls and insuring the proper maintenance and accuracy of training records, providing documentation to auditors, compiling manuals, proctoring exams, compliance with client requirements and coordination of vendor selection.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1. Develop and deliver courses as needed to meet or exceed the regulatory, company and client requirements for all Morrison employees.
2.2. Oversee preparation of classrooms for daily training regiments including: Computers, rosters, student materials (pens, folders) and scheduling time slots
2.3. Consolidate budget expenditures, track training costs and repots
2.4. Create training documents and maintain training records organized with Train Track.
2.5. Liaison with and support the various departments and business units of Morrison.
2.6. Review completed folders for signatures, dates, and grades.
2.7. Maintain ISNetworld, OQSG, Veriforce and other 3rd party sites for Operator Qualifications.
2.8. Deliver client/project specific training in support of projects.
2.9. Work with Crewing Coordinators to create spreadsheets for group/vessel/jobs (training gap analysis).
2.10. Participate in internal/external and client audits as requested/directed.
2.11. Promote company culture, accountability and leadership.
2.12. Some travel to offshore worksites, docks and company facilities may be necessary.
3. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
Regardless of other duties, has a responsibility to follow Chet Morrison Contractors, LLC production, safety, and quality procedures.
4. REQUIREMENTS
a) Education – Bachelor’s degree in management, safety, environmental science or behavioral science preferred.
b) Experience – Minimum (5) years experience in training, public speaking, sales, coaching and/or regulatory safety.
c) Training
a. Self motivated, posses interpersonal skills to maintain a good working and ethical relationship with coworkers and vendors.
b. The ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines independently.
c. Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word and Power Point).
d. Must have the physical ability to work in rigorous conditions related to shipyards, dry docks and marine vessels).
e. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to speak to large groups of people.
